Nextenders’ client, Botswana’s Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Board (PPADB), has rolled out e-Bidding using our innovative NexProcure software. The roll-out forms an important part of the country’s Integrated Procurement of Management System (IPMS).

Delivering the strategic values of the PPADB, the new e-bidding system will enhance transparency, integrity and customer service.

“Government is working tirelessly to improve the ease of doing business in the country and to promote e-Government services hence e-procurement,” said Solomon Sekwakwa, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning.

According to Bridget John, PPADB executive chairperson, the principles of public procurement such as competition, transparency, value for money and public confidence have been influential in the system’s design. 

Reducing corruption is key, as the online system will bring transparency in the form of audit trails and will boost competition as a consequence of greater access. A further two benefits are:

e-Bidding improves customer service. Customers will no longer have to travel sometimes long distances to reach PPADB, which is situated in Gaborone, the country’s capital city. It will also enable bidders to download online tenders for free and read them to establish interest before any fees are paid.

PPADB are also benefitting from more efficient bid administration including contractor registration, automated services and efficient managing of data are all part of the NexProcure system.
