Meet the team leading Nextenders
Tapan Mehta is a co-founder and the CEO of Nextenders Group, responsible for driving the Group‘s business strategy. Tapan provides leadership and direction to new business development, international sales, intellectual property management, legal/compliance, and investor relations.
Prior to founding Nextenders, Tapan worked in Germany, Switzerland and the UK in diverse manufacturing, sales and OEM roles. He also co-founded the first B2B marketplace for the textile engineering industry.
Since founding Nextenders he has steered the company from a garage start-up into an international group with customers on three continents. His vision is for Nextenders to be the dominant global complex-procurement software supplier, under-pinned by future-proof technology and processes.
Tapan has a degree in Mathematics from the University of Edinburgh and Masters Degree in Set Theory from King’s College, London. He also holds a Diploma in International Business Management from WebsterUniversity (London).
Chief Operating Officer
Sumeet is a co-founder of Nextenders and its COO. He is responsible for operations and financial control. Sumeet’s first career was as a professional cricketer. He then gained 14 years’ senior management experience in engineering, marketing and sales in India, Europe, South East Asia, and the Middle East. Thereafter Sumeet notched up 13 years experience in the IT sector, becoming a Managing Partner of India Radio & Electronics Corporation.
In 2002 Sumeet had the idea that led to the creation of Nextenders. His energy and vision have played a pivotal role in the company ever since. He drove the successful roll-out of Nextenders’ systems across large state government and public sector clients and has been central to the high growth levels that Nextenders has enjoyed consistently since we began.
Chief Technical Officer
Sujeet is Nextenders’ Chief Technical Officer, responsible for international business and building the company’s technological roadmap. He is also the company’s nominated project manager in the United Nations Centre for Trade Facilitation and Electronic Business (UN/CEFACT) forum for security in government procurement. In this role he is also involved in the development of the UN/CEFACT TBG6 worldwide standard for eTendering.
Sujeet has over 20 years’ experience in technical translation and documentation for European and American clientele, and is fluent in German, Dutch and several Indian languages. He is our technical expert, motivated by the opportunity to create social transformation through technology. In the Nextenders’ context, Sujeet is driven by the opportunities that eProcurement provides to make a real difference in people’s lives, and to deliver genuine societal benefits.
Sales & Partnerships Director, Europe
Based in London, Gary is the Sales and Partnerships Director of Nextenders Europe. He is responsible for all Nextenders UK- and EU-based business, driving the localization of the Nextenders’ product suite. Gary is also a key member of the Nextenders’ global organisation, helping to shape both the company’s products and its overall direction. He was instrumental in creating the On Demand eProcurement suite for Nextenders that is now live in the UK and has been successfully rolled out across India.
Gary was selected as one of Britain’s young Entrepreneurs in 2002 by Who’s Who. He went on to create and run a multi-award winning Web Design Agency in the UK, before becoming the lead salesman for one of the UK’s foremost Boutique System Integrators for over 10 years. There he was instrumental in winning and managing the delivery of key e-commerce and UK Government critical systems for the likes of SOCA, Met Police, Home Office, BIS and TfL.
Gary has an established track record in the design and build of innovative web-based solutions. He was part of the UK launch team for AOL in 1994. He subsequently focused on web-based solutions that improve all aspects of business process management and champion the user. In eProcurement he has found a home creating complex systems that are easy to use and provide clients with both workflow driven processes and flexibility. Gary has a degree in Geology from Edinburgh University.
John is Non-Executive Chairman of the Nextenders’ Board. He heads the Investment Banking and Financial Services division at Batlivala & Karani Securities and additionally brings extensive technology experience. John has a Masters degree in Economics from the University of Cambridge and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales. He is actively involved in the patenting of Nextenders’ intellectual property and the evolution of its international expansion plans.

Rajasthan Asset Management Co. Pvt Ltd (RAMC) is a privately held autonomous company. It manages Rajasthan Venture Capital Fund (RVCF) which has two funds in operation – a first fund of Rs 160 million started in 2002, and the RVCF II SME Tech Fund of Rs 1.5 billion supported by 15 investors. These include the Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation and the Small Industries Development Bank of India as lead investors. RVCF invests mainly in the SME sector across India to support the growth of technology and innovation. It also focuses on other knowledge and high-growth sectors and provides strategic support as part of value creation and maximisation of shareholders’ wealth.
