Online skill test. |
You are strongly encouraged to take the test irrespective of the position you are applying for. Though a good score in the test (scores are in percentile) is not necessary condition for being short-listed, it is a sufficient condition. |
Rules of the test |
The test contains a total of 50 questions with 100 marks. The total time allotted to the test is 90 minutes. Time is counted from the instant you click on the Start Test button. All questions do not carry equal marks. Marks for each question are indicated in brackets. |

Test Time Slots and Concurrency Control |
Tests are conducted in pre-defined time slots which can be seen on the main page after logging in. The test has to be started and completed within the time slot. If you start less than 90 minutes before the end of the time slot you will not be allowed to proceed with the test and will have to wait for the next time slot. For example if the time slot is from 10 am to 12 noon, you can not start your test after 10.30 am. You will then have to take the 12.30 pm to 2.30 pm slot. Available time slots can be checked by clicking on Schedule for Test. Since a large number of candidates are expected to appear for the test, we have restricted the number of candidates taking a test concurrently to 200 to ensure good server response rates to candidates currently taking the test. If you get a message that says “Number of candidates exceeds ….”, this means that there are more than 200 candidates currently taking the test and you will have to wait for the next slot. |

Answering Questions |
Some of the questions are multiple choice questions while the others have short numeric answers. In case of multiple choice questions, answers are to be submitted by clicking on the appropriate radio button against the right option and clicking Submit. In case of numeric answers, write the answer in the data box and click Submit. You can not change your answer once it is submitted. |
Skipping Questions |
The test allows you to temporarily skip any particular question for answering it later. Skipped question numbers appear as hyperlinks above the submit button. If you click on a skipped question link, the question that appears on the page is automatically skipped and you are taken to the skipped question. Skipped questions will keep appearing by turn automatically till you have completed all the questions or 90 minutes are over, whichever is earlier. |
Tracking time and questions left |
While you answer questions, on the upper right side, you can see the time left and number of questions remaining to be answered. The skipped questions are not counted in number of questions remaining. Bear in mind that the time left is not refreshed unless you submit or skip a question. So if you have been dwelling on a question for a long a time, the “time left” may be less than what is shown. |

Looking Up Scores |
Your score is shown to you after you complete the test or your test time is exceeded. The score shown is the percentile. Percentile score indicates % of candidates within your stream who have taken the test and scored less than you have. As more candidates take the test, your percentile score keeps changing. Be sure to check your final percentile scores after all the time slots are over. |
