Award-winning eprocurement - Nextenders' Suresh Maharaj presented with the e-North East Award 2014Nextenders were delighted to be recognised in the e-North East Award 2014 for its implementation of NexProcure for the State Governments of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram. The awards, organised by the North East Development Foundation (NEDF), are an initiative to promote, advocate and support ‘Digital India’.

Nextenders were successful in the e-Tendering/e-Procurement category and the award was presented during the awards gala on November 7th. Representatives of the customer were also present to receive the award.

Digital innovations

The Digital North East initiative is focused on engaging stakeholders in ICT for development and good governance. The awards are accompanied by a Summit, considered the biggest in North East India and this year the theme was ‘Digital Innovations for Citizen Services’.

It was particularly pleasing to win this award as it recognises the key role that technology such as ours can play in digital inclusion and enablement, as well as the financial benefits it delivers. It also shows the North Eastern States leading the way into the digital mainstream.

Transforming procurement and tendering

“Recognition in awards like these is important in a number of ways,” said Suresh Maharaj, Nextenders’ GM Sales and Marketing. “It publicises the work of forward-thinking organisations like these and acts as a case study for transforming procurement and tendering through technology. The awards and the Summit were also an opportunity to discuss what can be achieved next and how capabilities, efficiencies and inclusion can go even further.”
